Keely brought me this beautiful bouquet this afternoon. Peonies, lemon balm and catnip (catmint?), it had graced her table at the Clifton Forge farmer's market earlier this morning. Now it is resting on our kitchen table, bringing a bit of cheer and peace to end this hectic week. Thanks to Renee over at FIMBY for inspiring Friday's Flowers.

Why I love the Olive Tree
Check out all this loot!
1 fantastic cement mixer (which you can really mix water and mud in and have it pour out the chute)
2 packages of unopened GLIDE floss!
1 Music Maestro game by Aristoplay
1 Coloraddo game
All for a grand total of $.79!!!!
That's right seventy nine cents. At a little thrift store in Crozet. And look, from that little trip I have already learned about a racket, a Renaissance wind instrument!
Youtube has videos of krumhorns too.
I think I now know where that expression comes from "what a racket!"

Touched
Yesterday morning I took a brisk walk down to our neighbor's mailbox to photograph their exquisite white and yellow irises. It was drizzly and I didn't want my camera to get wet, so I got a quick shot and turned around for home. Later that afternoon, I found one of the irises, with the bulb carefully dug out, on the hood of our car. Pure, sweet kindness; a bit of thoughtful cheeriness for the heart. We now have a yellow iris near our mailbox reminding me to share joy, sow love, and cultivate a world of kindness.
